Teddy Afro "Ethiopia" Album Release Ceremony at Hilton Hotel
The iconic Ethiopian pop star singer-songwriter Tewodros Kassahun, popularly known as Teddy Afro has organized a dinner gala at the Hilton Addis Hotel.
The dinner has hosted for the official release of his fifth studio album “Ethiopia.”
Sunday, August 27, 2017, is the day that has slated for the official release of his album and video clip of “Mar Eske Tuaf,” a song based on Fikir Eske Mekabir, literary “Love unto Death,” authored by the late legendary Hadis Alemayehu.
Jorka Event Organizer will handle the details of hosting the program, according to Ethiopikalink show.
Released his “Ethiopia” album on May 2, 2017, Teddy Afro has set record album sales in the Ethiopian music history yet again. He was reportedly sold his album at a record cost of five million Birr.
Either the 1200 guests would pay to attend the dinner gala or via invitation card is not yet decided. That will be revealed after a consultation between the Singer and Jorka Events, Ethiopikalink Radio Show reported.
Previously, on releasing “Tikur Sew” loosely translated “Black Men” album in 2012, 850 guests were attended the event through invitation card, organized by Belema Entertainment and Adika Communication and Events, at the same venue.
Just a week after of the release of Tikur Sew, recognition, and gratitude program held for Tikur Sew DVD crew at the historic Itegie Taitu Hotel.
Teddy Afro’s album has also made a reputation topping the Billboard “world album” chart, becoming perhaps the second singer to achieve such global heights after Aster Aweke’s Kabu. Although by no means is the highest selling album around the world, it is, however, the top selling album in the “world music” genre, which is defined as traditional non-western music. Billboard uses a combination of actual sales, radio airplay, and streaming data to rank music.
Besides Billboard, the album was at the top of the iTunes “Top 100 World Music Albums”.
All the promo music for the tracks of this album are uploaded to the singer’s official YouTube channel which has 14 million subscribers, earning him B+ rate by Social Blade, a statistics website that tracks statistics and measures growth across multiple social media platforms. VidIQ, a popular YouTube statistic analyzing software, estimates Teddy Afro’s official YouTube channel averages 9,900 dollars a month, without commercials. The payments for per view would be deposited into an account under the singer’s name.
