Abune Mathias is the 6th Patriarch of the Orthodox Church
Archbishop of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church (EOTC) Monastery in Jerusalem, Abune Mathias is elected the 6th Patriarch of the Church.

According to our reporters, 500 of the 806 voters cast votes for Abune Mathias, who has been Arch Bishop of Ethiopian Church in Jerusalem.
 
 
The other four candidates: Abune Yoseph, Abune Mathewos, Abune Hiskiel and Abune Elsa have got 98, 98, 70 and 39 votes in that order.

Archbishops, department heads of the patriarchate office, ancient monasteries and churches, clergy, followers of the EOTC and Sunday school students, among others, were voting in the election of the new Patriarch.

The enthronement of the 6th Patriarch would be held on March 3, 2013 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

    i am confused in two separate Ethiopian orthodox church which one can truly reflect Ethiopia and Ethiopians.in my opinion before selecting the new papa the church has to reconcile with the other group .do u believe that father of love can hear our pray with getting heart that ready to reconcilil with the other group.
