Ghanain Presiden Mills, Ethiopian PM Meles and Tanzanian President Kikwete were invited to the G-8 at Camp David last May for their vision and great leadership in Africa. Their presence at Camp David was hailed as historical of global magnitude. But since that meeting Ghanian President and PM Meles had passed away. Now the BBC is reporting that Tanzania’s President Kikwete is ill. We all know this is a sensitive issue, but Africa should request a formal inquiry into what happened to its leaders at the G-8 meeting. It isn’t a mere coincidence that three leaders who were at the same meeting, looking at their best to die and get seriously ill at the same time. There must be some proper explaination to why our leaders are dying one after another than what we have been given.

The death of Mr. Zenawi may be a big relief for the majority of the peoples in Ethiopia whose human rights have been continuously and grossly violated for the last 21 years. His departure may create the opportunity for a democratic atmosphere.
