    Please try to correct your words as follows:
    1-Ethiopia is not using nile --- Ethiopia is now using its water by building a Dam.
    2-The Dam will reduce Egypts share ----- May be right now the wastage by Egypt exceeds 17 billion cubic liters. So pls. don't forget nile is gift of God to all of us. Let us share it fairly.

    While I was in foreign lands, including CAIRO, no body gave me a DROP of water for free! Now tell me why we should give them our river for FREE, as millions of our citizens starve to death?? In the past we lacked the money and technology. Now we have everything we need to use the river to save our people. I am not a fan of wayyane govt. but Ethiopians must guard their resources like their eyes.

    This is no longer ethnic issue! Our fathers and grand farthers faught and defeated invaders without asking for freedom and democracy first. We must do the same when our very existence is under threat. Egypt must pay for EVERY drop of our water! Otherwise ETH should prepare contigency plan to divert the river to Wallo and Hararge as necessary and settle this issue for ever.

    Egypt, Sudan and the Heat (precipitation) divided the water as if the other countries in Africa do not exist. This is an arrogance of biblical proportions. I think Ethiopia should use the Nile not just for hydropower but also for irrigation. Peace to all!!

    It's true that, Ethiopia has many rivers and again it's true that Ethiopia can use other rivers to produce Hydroelectric powers. But non of Ethiopian rivers are as big as Nile. Egyptians have to know that Nile is the biggest wealthy of Ethiopians. 83Millions of Ethiopian poor Ethiopian peoples need Nile to eradicate from there Poverty without reducing it's volume.

    Gutema,
    Go *** yourself ass hole! You gonna cry for another 25 years. It does not matter whether u sided with out sworn enemy egypt or eritrea. But mind u, u r working day in day out with anti-Ethiopian forces

    @Gutema:
    You mean like how Egypt is right now? where political parties are at each other throat and wont be able to get even budget passed let alone start major project like the nile dam. It is wishful thinking that so called political reform that is not well thought out will deliver any meaningful economic or political improvement.

    Gutema, I understand your point. Of course the regime can manipulate this every time it is under threat of collapse. But you must see farther andthe other side, the way Arabs argue.Even if some declare independence there must be PERMANENT military treaty between East Aftricans solely to defend the river against intruders. We can't afford to give Egypt chance to divide us on this.

    Ethiopia is governed by mafia group pro Eritrea Askari bandas!, until freedom of speech, free media, free election, free economical reforms, free citizens movement within the country, free political reforms, the military generals should be consist of all ethnics proportionally, until these issues resolved building dams is to cover up the real fundamental issues in Ethiopia.

    This is a very biased one sided story showing Egypt as a victim. He didn't mention about the unfairness of the 1959 agreement where Ethiopia gets zero share. He gave the credit to Egypt for forming the technical committee while it was Ethiopia's initiative to show solidarity and good faith. CCTV should have a strong editorial caution when reporting such contentious issue.

    Britain has the right, the might and the means to tunnel the riverThemes to Cario. We dont oppose!
    GB has no right to force us give our life line to other countries. Times have changed and we need the river at least as much as the Egyptians need it. We are ready to die for this cause if necessary.

    This is the most important reason for Ethiopia to remain terrorially integrated. Any breakway wont win the war and we all lose BIG. Together we beat any problem in our way including this Arab interference in our internal affairs. Their logic is Arabs should live at the expense of lives of millions of black people as they did for centuri. We don't demand theirs, they should leave us alone with ours

    I'm extremely glad that the dam begins to build up...but my conscience tell me that its better to settle the problem with this *** Arabs before spending tooo much money...its not like the government have all the fund right now...any one who judge me first should know the consequences of war first...

    No thank you we do not need your religious fanatics coming to Ethiopia and telling us we should be content with our poverty.
